The Naval Association Australia Bayside Sub Section is based at the Redlands RSL at Cleveland in the Bayside region. It serves as a social group for current and former members of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), providing opportunities for camaraderie, networking, and support.
Bayside Sub Section meets monthly on the first Saturday of the month (not in January) at the Redlands RSL and organises social events, outings, and activities to bring together naval personnel and their families, fostering a sense of community and connection beyond their service years.

Bayside Sub-section
Col Saxby's Newsletters are a "must read" for all Bayside members
The Bayside Sub Section is an active and motivated group of men and women who actively embrace and support the five pillars that underpin the Naval Association of Australia, namely.
- Care (welfare) for the diverse and crucial support of Navy and ex-Navy men and women
- Commemoration by maintaining the legacy of past service and sacrifice.
- Navy Cadets (ANC) by assisting youths to become better citizens through support to the ANC.
- Camaraderie to meet and socialise with like-minded Navy and ex-Navy men and women.
- Community (engagement) How we interact with and support our local communities.
Bayside actively participates in State Council meetings and activities, the NAA QLD State Conference, provides Welfare assistance from a DVA accredited Pensions Officer and two highly motivated, ATDP trained Wellbeing / Welfare Officers accredited under the DVA System to provide assistance and Hospital support to Veterans in need.
There are two Naval Cadet Units in our local area namely TS Norfolk and TS Diamantina. Bayside Cadet Liaison Officers attend cadet parades and provide regular reports to our meetings on how best Bayside can provide assistance to these cadet units.
Our Major activities to support Bayside's camaraderie, wellbeing and Veteran Support include:
- a Ladies Dining in Night held in October each year,
- a Ladies High Tea,
- attendance at Navy reunions
- occasionally Monthly meetings with a light lunch are held on the quarter deck
of HMAS Diamantina at Maritime Museum at South Bank, - Annual Christmas Party and
- Meet and Greets for visiting Naval Vessels.
The main sources of income for the Bayside Sub Section is from the active participation of its members attending Bunnings BBQ's and RSL Raffles.
Bayside Sub Section would like to extend a warm welcome to any prospective members from former or serving personnel and their declared partners from:
- Commonwealth Navies and Australia's Allies,
- Commonwealth of Nations merchant naval service who, in the performance of their
merchant naval duties, have served in a war zone or other theatre of military operations - Australian Naval Cadet (ANC) officers and instructors and declared partners thereof,
