JOIN THE NAVAL ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA  MEMBERSHIP – who is eligible to join?

Full Membership is open to:

   All serving and former members of the Royal Australian Navy including Reserve Forces.  ( Yes, you can join the NAA as a FULL MEMBER when you commence as a New Entrant from Day 1 ! – )

  All serving and former members of other Commonwealth Navies & Royal Marines and Allied Navies.

  Any Service member of the Australian Defence Force who has served in a dedicated billet on a RAN ship for at least 6 months. 

   Former or serving Australian Naval Reserve Cadet Officers and Instructors in receipt of a Certificate of Appointment who have served for a period of not less than two years.

   Persons who are former or serving personnel of the Australian Naval Cadet (ANC) movement and who have reached the age of 18 years and who have completed 3 years service in the ANC”.

   Persons who are former or serving personnel of the merchant naval service of Australia or any member country of the British Commonwealth who in the performance of their merchant naval duties, have served in a war zone or other theatre of military operations.

Restricted Membership is composed of;

     Social Member.  A person who already belongs to another NAA sub-Section and wishes to become a part of a second sub-Section.

and persons who are not eligible for Full Membership of the Association but who wish to join /  contribute to the Association as follows: 

    Associate Member.  A person who has foreign going Merchant Navy service.

     Club Member.  A person who has no Naval or Merchant Navy service.

Full Membership:Annual Subscription $38  

Joining Fee                  $5

Total                            $43

The annual subscription covers the period 1 January – 31 December

Allowance is made for people joining the Association in the latter half of the calendar year. On payment of the joining fee and annual subscription, a person will be listed as a Provisional Member.  Membership will be confirmed upon the applicant being accepted as a member by a sub-Section or a Section that does not have sub-Sections (ACT Section and Darwin Section). We also welcome applications for Associate, Club and Social Membership – details of membership fees for Associate, Club and Social members will be advised separately. If you wish to become a Restricted Member and have not served in the Merchant Navy – please ignore the Service Details section in the form under: Personal Details

     Please note that when you submit your details, they will be sent to a Naval Association State or Territory Section and Sub Section for action.The Sub / Section Secretary will ask you to complete a Full Application Form and will ask you to provide proof of your Naval service – before your application can be finalised.    If applying for Associate, Social or Club membership, simply forward your Personal Details.  You will be further advised regarding payment of membership fees and documentation.      You will be listed as a Provisional Member when the joining fee of $5 plus the first year’s subscription of $38, totalling $43 is received.     In addition to forwarding the Personal Details outlined above PAY THE MEMBERSHIP FEES OF $43 through PayPal / Visa / Mastercard to ensure that you receive the very next issue of Australia’s leading Naval Magazine – White Ensign Magazine.
